Place the new battery in the socket after the old one was removed. Make sure that the positive end of the battery is facing up, and that all clips are seated. Then slide the cover back down and towards the key-ring loop until it becomes loose and slides off. Then, you can remove the cover and reveal the mechanical key blade inside. Note: Some older Volvos have a different battery one called the CR2025. CR2025 batteries are 7 tenths of a millimeter thinner than a CR2032 battery, so you must be careful with the placement of the replacement.
